What BroGo knows, and what it does with it.
A working draft for the pilot, written against what a group-trip planner actually collects.
What BroGo collects
BroGo exists to get a group to a decision, so what it collects is what a group needs to decide: the dates each traveler can do, the budget each traveler is comfortable with, a departure airport, trip preferences, and votes on destinations. It also stores the name of the trip and the names people enter for themselves.
If you invite friends by sharing a link, BroGo stores the names they enter when they respond. During the pilot BroGo does not ask for payment details, home addresses, passport information or documents of any kind.
Why it collects it
Every field has one job: finding the overlap. Dates find the windows everyone can make. Budgets set the ceiling. Airports feed flight-time estimates. Preferences and votes rank destinations. Names tell the group who has and hasn’t responded — which is half the point of the product.
BroGo does not use this information to build advertising profiles, and does not sell it.
Who can see it
The other members of your trip. That is how it works: everyone in the group can see the group’s availability, budget range, shortlist and votes. Individual budget caps are shown to the group as part of finding a target that fits everyone.
Beyond your group, the people operating the BroGo pilot can access data to keep the service running and to fix problems. No one else.
Service providers
BroGo runs on third-party hosting and infrastructure providers. They process data on BroGo’s behalf to deliver the service and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. A current list of providers will be published before general availability.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no tracking cookies. If product analytics are enabled, they will be limited to understanding how the site and app are used — which pages are visited, which buttons are pressed — and this policy will be updated to name the provider.
The application may use essential cookies or local storage to keep you signed in to a trip. These are not used for tracking.
How long it is kept
Trip data is kept while the trip is active and for a reasonable period afterwards so a group can refer back to what it decided. During the pilot, retention periods are still being settled; you can ask for a trip to be deleted at any time and it will be.
Your choices
You can ask to see the data BroGo holds about you, correct it, or have it deleted. You can leave a trip at any time. Depending on where you live you may have additional legal rights over your personal data; BroGo will honour them.
Children
BroGo is for adults planning trips together. It is not directed at anyone under 16, and BroGo does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
This is a pilot, and this policy will change — at minimum, once it has been reviewed by a lawyer. Material changes will be announced in the product before they take effect.
